Advocacy - Purpose - Tech Council of Maryland

Purpose

The Government Relations Committee advises and directs TCM's advocacy efforts with legislators and policymakers on issues of importance to the technology and biotechnology industries. TCM is the only technology council in Maryland with a full-time presence in Annapolis. We work year-round representing the interests of technology and biotechnology on behalf of our membership.

Decisions made in Annapolis can directly help or harm the success of tech and biotech companies. Addressing threats and opportunities in Annapolis is one of the most critical factors for the success or failure of highly competitive industries like tech and biotech. TCM has an experienced government relations team to represent its members' interest and seeks to influence policymakers on issues such as tech, biotech, economic development, capital formation, higher education, transportation, workforce, tax climate and more.

TCM also represents your interests in Congress through the leadership and guidance of partners like the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), of which we are proud to be BIO’s Maryland affiliate. TCM also partners with associations and chambers of commerce to influence issues important to TCM members on the local level. It is one of the benefits of membership that makes TCM unique and drives tremendous value for our members. We work year-round representing technology and biotechnology interests so you don’t have to.
