MdBio is widely recognized as the most comprehensive and reliable source of information about bioscience in Maryland. Some information resources are focused internally (i.e., within the bioscience community), while others are designed to make information about bioscience in Maryland available to those outside the region and the industry.
MdBio provides data on all Maryland bioscience companies, unless a firm specifically requests that it be excluded. All geographic regions within the state are treated equally, with coverage being directly proportional to the number of companies located there.
2007 Report, “Bioscience in Maryland, Taking Care of Business”
The 2007 Report, “Bioscience in Maryland, Taking Care of Business” is the fourth major report on the state’s bioscience community. The goal of this report, in addition to providing numerical industry data, is to better understand how a bioscience operation transforms itself from a capital-consuming science project to a revenue-producing venture. This report captures some of the elements of strategy and execution that have been vital to the success of Maryland’s bioscience companies and the bioscience investment community—their “best business practices”—as told by the personalities and industry leaders that are realizing their goals.
