ROCKVILLE, MD – (February 10, 2011) – Last night the Tech Council of Maryland honored Clifford M. Kendall, the Chairman and former CEO of Computer Data Systems, Inc., with its inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award in front of 300 attendees at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. The night was a celebration of Mr. Kendall’s many achievements and generous contributions in both the business and scholastic communities. The TCM Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an individual who has gone above and beyond the excellence expected of a business executive over the course of a career by also serving the community at large. The recipient must have demonstrated generosity and compassion along with business savvy ensuring that his or her lasting legacy encompasses both corporate success and community involvement.
Mr. Kendall was selected for the inaugural award for his longtime support of local businesses and schools. One of his most prestigious accomplishments was the establishment of The Cliff and Camille Kendall Foundation in 1998. This Foundation endows numerous scholarships for students majoring in Computer, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences at the University of Maryland.
“TCM could not have chosen a better recipient for our first Lifetime Achievement Award than Cliff Kendall,” said Renée M. Winsky, CEO of TCM. “When we announced that we would be honoring Cliff, the reaction and support from the Maryland community was overwhelming. We received numerous calls from members and other groups wanting to know what they could do to be a part of this well deserved honor”
