TECH COUNCIL OF MARYLAND ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF 2010 CIO&CTO LIVE! AWARDS

Two New Categories Added: Chief Information Security Officer of the Year and Rising IT Star of the Year

ROCKVILLE, MD – (November 05, 2010) – The Tech Council of Maryland (TCM) announced the winners of the Fifth Annual 2010 CIO&CTO Live! Awards before a capacity crowd last night at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC. The awards gala was attended by over 400 local CIOs, CTOs and Senior IT Executives, along with prominent government and academia leaders.

The CIO&CTO Live! Awards ceremony continues to be the Mid-Atlantic Region’s premiere event celebrating the achievements of the IT community. This year saw the introduction of two new awards, Chief Information Security Officer of the Year and Rising IT Star of the year. The event also raised $4,000 for the TCM Foundation, a charitable arm of TCM, introduced at last year’s awards.

“In 2006 CIO&CTO Live! was launched to honor IT executives who were making a difference in the Mid-Atlantic Region,” explained Renée M. Winsky, CEO of TCM. “Five years later it has grown from two awards to six and has become one of the most coveted honors in the region. Congratulations to all of last night’s winners.”

The 2010 CIO&CTO Live! Award winners are:

  • Non-Profit/Association IT Executive of the Year:
    Henry Dennig, Managing Director of Technology, Annie E. Casey Foundation
  • Government IT Executive of the Year:
    Jonathan Alboum, Chief Information Officer, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service
    Suzanne Peck, Assistant General Manager, Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority
  • Commercial Sector IT Executive of the Year:
    Mark Ives, Chief Information Officer, Alion Science & Technology
  • IT Product/Service of the Year: :
    GovWin, Deltek
  • Chief Information Security Officer of the Year:
    John Lamboy, Chief Information Systems Security Officer, Vangent
  • IT Rising Star of the Year:
    Fred Ferrer, Director, Cyberspace and Information Decision Dominance, ARINC
