MARIETTA, Ga., May 16, 2012 – A future C-5M rolled out of the hangar at the Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] facilities here, May 10. Tail number 87-0045 received new engine pylons and wiring, and will now be fitted with new, state-of-the-art GE F138-GE-100 turbofan engines and undergo flight checks before being delivered to Dover Air Force Base, Del., later this year.  

KOUROU, French Guiana, May 15, 2012 – The 100^th and 101^st Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] commercial geostationary communication satellites have been successfully placed in orbit today after a dual launch aboard an Ariane 5-ECA launch vehicle.  Both satellites are based on Lockheed Martin’s A2100 geosynchronous satellite series.   

FORT WORTH, Texas, May 15, 2012 – The twelfth Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] F-35 Lightning II destined for the training fleet at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., was ferried today. U.S. Marine Corps pilot Lt. Col. Fred Schenk piloted the aircraft, known as BF-11, which departed Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base, Texas at 10:02 a.m. CDT for an approximate 90-minute flight to Florida’s Emerald Coast.

First ballistic missile intercept for second-generation of Aegis BMD

KAUAI, Hawaii, May 14, 2012 – The Missile Defense Agency (MDA), U.S. Navy and Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] team successfully intercepted a ballistic missile target for the first time, using the second generation of the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) system, known as Aegis BMD 4.0.1.

FORT WORTH, Texas, May 10, 2012 – Two Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] F-35B short takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL) production aircraft were ferried to Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., today, marking the 24^th and 25^th F-35 deliveries to the Department of Defense. The 5^th Generation multirole fighter jets were delivered to the United States Marine Corps and are now assigned to the 2^nd Marine Aircraft Wing’s Marine Fighter/Attack Squadron 501 residing with the host 33d Fighter Wing.

MARIETTA, Ga., May 9, 2012 – Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] last week inducted into its facilities here the first C-5B Galaxy from Travis Air Force Base, Calif., to become a  C-5M Super Galaxy.

MARIETTA, Ga., May 8, 2012 – The Royal Canadian Air Force formally accepted the 17th Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] CC-130J Super Hercules in ceremonies here today, completing the order placed in December 2007. The aircraft will be flown to Canadian Forces Base Trenton later this week.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has selected Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] to compete for future task orders through its new Tactical Communications (TACCOM) program.  Among 30 awardees, Lockheed Martin was one of five to be selected to compete for TACCOM tasks in all five of the program’s core areas.
