New TCM Event Introduces Social Networking as a Business to Business Tool

(ROCKVILLE, MD) – July 28, 2008 – The Tech Council of Maryland's (TCM) Tech Alliance Division presents, Growing Your Business through Social Media on September 10, 2008, at Johns Hopkins University Montgomery County Campus in Rockville, Maryland, from 8:00 a.m. - noon. With the recent rise in social networking sites, companies must understand how to use them. It is now more important than ever for businesses to learn how to reach new customers and connect with established customers.

"Social networking sites are the next wave of marketing for tech companies that want to augment their traditional media and business development," said Rick Harris, Executive Director of TCM's Tech Alliance Division. "Sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and MySpace allow TCM member companies to reach out to their customers, do better business development research and data mine right from their desktop. We'll teach all attendees the latest social networking tools and how to augment their traditional marketing with these tools."
