Financial Conditions and the Economic Outlook Topic of November 21 Breakfast
(ROCKVILLE, MD) November 10, 2008 The Tech Council of Maryland (TCM), representing more than 500 companies in the nation's second largest technology hub, is welcoming Dr. Jeffrey M. Lacker, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, as keynote speaker of the Financial Executives Forum, November 21 from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. at the Bethesda Marriott Hotel.
Dr. Lacker's address, "Financial Conditions and the Economic Outlook," provides a window into the economy from one of the most influential policymakers in the country, during a time when the Federal Reserve is playing a primary role in the nation's economy. Attendees will be able to network with financial executives from the region's top technology and biotechnology companies.
Dr. Lacker is the seventh chief executive of the Fifth District Federal Reserve Bank, at Richmond, having taken the oath of office in 2004. He is the author of numerous articles in professional journals on monetary, financial, and payment economics, and has presented his work at several universities and central banks. Dr. Lacker taught at The College of William and Mary in 1992 and 1993, and in 1997 he was a visiting scholar at the Swiss National Bank.
