Tech Council of Maryland to Host Bio+Tech16 May 23-24

Mid-Atlantic Region’s First-Ever Conference Bringing Together Life Science and Technology Sectors for Networking, Education and Collaboration

WHO:
Tech Council of Maryland (TCM)
WHAT: Bio+Tech16

Bio+Tech16 is about fostering the convergence of the life science and technology sectors in the Mid-Atlantic region. This first-of-its-kind conference was designed to bring together professionals for meaningful networking, education, idea exchange and collaboration that will translate into a stronger combined community, partnerships and a more vibrant environment where business and organizations can connect and prosper.

“Our region’s life science and technology sectors are major drivers of jobs, economic development and growth for the state. We are already seeing the positive impact from the convergence of these two sectors in Maryland in response to significant public health needs – biotech driving R&D advancements, and development of personalized medicine and apps for remote healthcare enabled by technological innovations in computing, data analytics, cyber security and manufacturing.” said Phil Schiff, TCM’s CEO. “With Bio+Tech16, TCM hopes to play an important role in providing an environment where entrepreneurs in both sectors can discover ways to transform their markets, which will result in the continued strengthening of our state’s innovation economy.”

The event will feature:

  • World-renown speakers and keynotes, including Todd Stottlemyer, CEO of Inova Center for Personalized Health.
  • Bio+Tech16 Conference – By bringing more than 500 top technology and life science professionals together with leading global brands, venture capitalists and promising startups, Bio+Tech16 will encourage crossover relationships, technology and talent sharing and opportunities to explore potential sources of capital for companies looking to grow. These sessions and networking opportunities also will offer attendees the chance to build community and provide access to advocacy and community-building resources.
