The Executive of the Year Award recognizes and honors executives who have made outstanding contributions to their firm and driven it to succeed through their leadership skills and personal abilities in 2006. The Executive of the Year award winner will be:

  • An individual skilled at taking calculated risks that lead to success
  • A leader in the Maryland technology or biotechnology community

High Technology Firm of the Year
The High Technology Firm of the Year Award acknowledges organizations, which have innovative technologies and products that are making a difference in the way companies do business. Company categories may include, but are not limited to: Communications, Telecommunications, Satellite, Software, Systems Integration, Communications & Convergence, Software & Services, Hardware & Semiconductors, Professional Services (this will include your BPO companies, system integrators, technology consulting firms), Internet, etc. The High Technology Firm of the Year award winner will have:

  • Innovative products and services relevant to the market
  • Strong long-term prospects for business
  • Evidence of market details including: market penetration, potential/proven impact on the market, and positive influence on the marketplace
  • Achieved significant, measurable success including: increased revenue, profit and employee growth
  • A crisply executed growth strategy

Biotechnology Firm of the Year
The Biotechnology Firm of the Year Award acknowledges the firm that best exemplifies the sprit of the Maryland biotechnology community as well as its presence and leadership in Maryland. The Biotechnology Firm of the Year award winner will have:

  • Achieved significant, measurable success (e.g., technological breakthroughs, increased revenues, employee growth)
  • Contributed to the advancement of biosciences through cutting-edge research and development or commercialization
  • A crisply executed growth strategy (e.g., merger, acquisition or brought a new product to market)
  • Helped foster a vibrant biotechnology community within Maryland

Government Contracting Firm of The Year
The Government Contracting Firm of The Year Award is given to the firm that has proven its ability to provide exemplary service to our nation either as a prime or subcontractor. The Government Contractor of the Year Award winner will have:

  • Achieved measurable success as evidenced by growth in revenue and profitability either through organic growth or acquisition
  • Developed critical expertise in its service to the government
  • Demonstrated ability to plan a clear growth strategy and execute on it
  • Improved the level of service or cut costs of either the government or a prime contractor
  • Demonstrated success in partnering with other contracting firms in the region

TCM Members' Choice

The TCM Members' Choice Award is given to any business, agency, firm or organization that has given outstanding customer and service support to the technology community. The vendor has demonstrated effective use of their services by enhancing the productivity of their customers and have regularly exceeded their customers'/clients' expectations. Service categories may include, but are not limited to: financial/accounting, legal firms, marketing, executive search firms, insurance, real estate, consultants; the entire range of technology and biotechnology based services such as managed outsourced services, hosting, and lab services.

  • Describe your services that made a dramatic impact on the turnaround or growth of a company, in turn delivering results right to the bottom line.
